Explore West Cornwall when staying at Chy ryb ConnertonHayle Towans and Gwithian Beaches
These wonderful and expansive sandy beaches are located less than 3 miles miles away which are firm favourites with windsurfers, surfers and kite-surfers as well as beach lovers. There is so much space on them and combined they stretch over 3 miles along St Ives Bay. Conveniently there are cafés near to the Gwithian Towans car park.
During the late spring and summer months the beach is covered lifeguards.
Dogs are allowed all year round on the larger Hayle Towans beach, and on Gwithian Beach there are restrictions only in July and August between 10am and 6pm.
St. Ives
The really best way to visit this famous town of artists’ colonies, museums and galleries is to take the scenic coastal train (from St Erth). The views of the coast from the train are stunning.
Places to Visit When The Weather Permits
St Michael’s Mount
With history in each room and new discoveries waiting around every corner, why not visit St. Michael’s Mount. The mount is accessible by either the causeway (when the tide is out) or by boat (when the tide is in). We advise checking their website for details and to book a visit.
Please note that the owners of the Mount (St Aubyn Estates) no longer allow dogs onto the Mount or the Causeway.
